Mooresville welcomes thousands of visitors each year to experience the tree lined streets and historic buildings of one of Alabama’s oldest intact villages. The commemoration project allows a place where visitors can belong, unwind, and experience Mooresville’s tranquility and heritage through signage, symbolic construction, and horticulture.
Partnering with esteemed Landscape Designer, Harvey Cotton, Silo designed and built the garden to fit within the context of a nearly two-hundred-year-old church serving as the backdrop. The design incorporates the original 100+ year-old fence pickets, natural hardscapes, educational signage, and a bronze figure ground map with 3-D printed buildings that depicts the Town as it is on Mooresville’s Bicentennial.
