Congregants of St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Parish have worshipped in building since 1872, making it the oldest Catholic community in North Alabama. Constructed with limestone mass walls and timber framing, the building has subtly evolved over time to include technological advancements while preserving its original historic character.

Silo Design Build Studio’s scope is to create a new permanent accessible entrance. The project will include removing and modifying a historic stained-glass window and cutting and removing 24-inch thick limestone blocks that have been in place for over 150 years, all while maintaining church activities within. God be with us.
